FACULTY OF ENGINEERING, BUILT ENVIRONMENT AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY¦ Office of the Dean ¦Ref 2067


Main purpose of the job Providing academic vision to the faculty and leading the strategic development of the faculty in alignment with the university's strategic priority areas.
Main tasks 1. Achieving the faculty's strategic goals and operational targets.
2. Managing human, financial, physical and other resources.
3. Managing change
4. Managing and overseeing quality and standards.
5. Planning, organising and decision-making.
6. Leading and developing individuals and teams.
7. Participating in the development and management of the university's strategic plan
Nature of appointment Five-year Senior Manager performance-based contract
Minimum salary scale (Total Cost to Company) Available on request

Accordingly, the preferred candidate may expect an offer that is in line with their qualifications and years of similar experience. Minimum Qualification/ Knowledge and/or Experience · PhD or equivalent qualification in a field relating to the disciplinary areas of the faculty.
· Should have obtained at least the rank of associate professor.
· Evidence of at least five (5) years' leadership and management experience at middle and/or senior management level in higher education.
· A substantial track record of academic achievement and excellence in a disciplinary area of the faculty.
· Evidence of strong academic leadership in teaching, research and engagement.
· Proven experience of delivering against organisational and individual objectives.
· Proven experience of generating third-stream income.
· Experience of motivating and inspiring teams in delivering objectives.
Desired Qualification/ Knowledge And/ Or Experience · Should have attained the rank of professor.
· Evidence of at least eight (8) years' leadership and management experience at middle and/or senior management level in higher education.
· Professional registration to a relevant professional body, where applicable.
