Main purpose of the job To develop academic material and lecture in allocated subjects for own and other programmes and to execute appropriate community projects.
Main tasks 1. Teaching, Learning & Assessment (10-50%)
2. Student Evaluation (10%)
3. Research (10- 50%)
4. Administration (10- 15%)
5. Control and Organisation (10%)
6. Community Service & Marketing (10%)
Subject field(s) • Financial Accounting III; Financial Reporting IV; Accounting Software; Cost and Management Accounting II and III
Nature of appointment Permanent Academic
Minimum salary scale (Total Cost to Company) R 693427 per annum
(2024 Salary Scales to be determined) Note: CUT applies an internal parity model to determine remuneration that complies with the principle of "equal pay for work of equal value". Accordingly, the preferred candidate may expect an offer that is in line with their qualifications and years of similar experience. Minimum Qualification/ Knowledge and/or Experience · A relevant Master's-level degree (i.e. M Tech / Masters / NQF 9 or equivalent) and Professional Accountant (SA) registration with SAIPA
OR
Chartered Accountant (South Africa): CA(SA) registration with SAICA
· At least two years' teaching/lecturing/industry experience relevant to the subject field(s)
Desired Qualification, Knowledge and/or Experience · At least two (2) years' relevant industry experience in an accounting practice
· Evidence of a research output (publication / presentation at a national conference)
· Evidence of progress towards a Doctorate degree will be an advantage
· Proficiency in Pastel and CaseWare will be a recommendation
