Job Purpose
The position is that of a Buyer to procure goods and services for the institution servicing departments.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Three (3) years' relevant experience in a procurement environmentA relevant National Diploma in Finance/Business Studies with Supply Chain related courses or Accounting as a major subject or equivalentGood communication skills (written and verbal) Computer literacyAdditional short courses in supply chain and procurement will be and added advantageRecommendation Experience in a higher education environment
Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities Procurement function implementation in accordance to policy and legislation Needs AnalysisNeeded AnalysisHandling of queries Marketing of the procurement function Liaising with suppliers and keeping up to date with market procurement trends Liaising with and assisting end users throughout the procurement functionGeneral administration
