Wastewater Engineer OpportunityWe have an exciting opportunity for a Wastewater Engineer based in Cape Town, Western Cape.LevelIntermediateKey RequirementsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field, with a focus on water/wastewater treatment.3-5 years of experience in the design, operation, and optimization of wastewater treatment facilities and systems.Proficiency in wastewater treatment process design and modeling software.Strong understanding of wastewater treatment principles, processes, and regulations, including biological treatment, chemical treatment, and disinfection.Knowledge of relevant wastewater treatment standards and guidelines.Experience in conducting wastewater characterization studies, hydraulic and process modeling, and performance evaluations of treatment plants.Familiarity with wastewater collection systems, including sewer network design, pump station design, and hydraulic analysis.Excellent technical writing and communication skills, with the ability to prepare detailed engineering reports, specifications, and design documentation.Personal AttributesAnalytical thinker with a problem-solving mindset and the ability to troubleshoot and optimize wastewater treatment processes.Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in data analysis, calculations, and design.Strong project management skills to plan, organize, and execute projects within budget and schedule.Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and regulatory agencies.Proactive and self-motivated with a passion for environmental stewardship and sustainable water management practices.Commitment to safety and adherence to industry best practices in wastewater engineering design, construction, and operation.
