Support the SVP of strategy
Generate critical market insights allowing business to adapt to changing markets and competitive situations
Generate group commodity price assumptions to allow budgeting and decision making in Sasol
Provide thought leadership to the company
Run the Group market assumptions process
Create a centre of excellence for external views for Sasol
Generate robust scenarios for Sasol
Support the Group Strategy TeamFUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS
Key Accountabilities
Business Results
Market intelligence
Collect relevant internal and external market information (market value and trends, competitors positioning & trends, etc.) within budget limits
Interpret information and provide thought leadership to organization through monthly/quarterly/yearly updates on WW competitors’ moves and overviews/POVs for key products and geographies.
Develop the Sasol “house view” on topics of strategic importance in key geographies and products
Develop and shape the Group POV/insights on top end-customers and top competitors for key products and geographies
Provide ad-hoc market analysis services to BUs or functions
Input, coordinate and align (where appropriate) Market Intelligence efforts across BUs to avoid duplication of activities
Develop Group assumptions
Develop macro-economic indicators and validate against selected data providers input (Woodmac, IHS etc.) within budget limits
Provide short ST, MT and LT pricing forecasts for core Sasol products based on internal model
Provide pricing forecasts for particular products as requested by BUs (subject to capacity)Leadership and Values
Risk & compliance
Compliance/Regulatory KPIs (incl. B-BBEE)
Strategy intelligence
Ensure that the group assumptions and strategy intelligence is available for use in the organisation and is provided in line with the group financial and business processes
Lead the team of analysts
Provide thought leadership to the company on external issuesRelationships, Teamwork and Collaboration
Functional budget with spend for professional services and certain information and subscription services
Maintain relationships with external information suppliers

Qualification Required :
University Bachelor's Degree
Post Graduate Honours degree (wish)
Minimum Experience
Typically 15+ years’ experience in multi-disciplines/OME’s/SBU’s
Sound understanding of Sasol value chains
Strong planning and project management / execution skills
Ability to engage with senior management
