Salary:NegotiableExperienceThe successful incumbent must have at least two (2) years' experience as technician within the weighbridge industry.Formal qualificationsMatric (with mathematics and science) or N2 mathematics and scienceCertificate of Appointment in terms of Section 8(1) of the Legal Metrology Act with following measuring instrument categories: MA1 MA3 TLE1 MB2Certificate of Registration as Repairer in terms of Section 10(1) of the Legal Metrology Act with following measuring instrument categories: MA1 MA3 TLE1 MB2Valid driving license code 14Own transportA valid medical certificate certifying the incumbents fitness status to workCompetency with all Microsoft Office Packages (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Access and Project)Competency with Google App Suite will be advantageousExperience with PastelResponsibilitiesAs verification officer:Assistance with implementation, control and management of management systemAssistance with conducting internal audits and corrective actionsPerformance of verification work in terms of the requirements of the Legal Metrology Act and Regulations and any relevant specifications applicable to the verification procedureAssistance in verification planning and result evaluationApplying verification procedures as prescribed by legislationApplying the powers and duties as defined in Section 25 of the Legal Metrology ActParticipating in training to ensure the necessary skills, competency and experience as is expected from Verification OfficersMaintaining minimum qualifications, experience and expertiseComplying with measurement standards and Quality Management SystemsCompleting, signing and issuing of any certificates issued on behalf of the laboratoryAs repairer:Performing repair work in terms of the Legal Metrology Act's provisionsAssistance in planning of repair activities and evaluation of resultsApplying repair procedures according to legislative provisionsApplying the powers and duties as defined in Section 27 of the Legal Metrology ActInherent requirements for the positionExcellent communication and reporting skills (English/Afrikaans)Excellent decision-makingA strong commitment towards the customer and their productsGood problem-solving skillsReliable and dependableAbility to work independentlyAbility to delegate tasks to subordinatesAttention to detailAnalytical and logicalAchievement drivenAssertiveComputer skillsPlanning and organisational skillsCompliance and detail orientedExcellent time managementShortlisted candidates will be expected to undergo psychometric testing and background screening.
