Unit Based Medical Director, Patient Flow CenterOchsner Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana is seeking a physician to serve as a Unit Based Medical Director of the Patient Flow Center.
The ideal candidate must be board certified in Internal Medicine and should have 3-5 years of experience as a staff physician.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Work as a front-line PILOTWork as a front-line HospitalistCreate PILOT orientation/on-boarding processRecruitment and Training of PILOTsEvaluation and scheduling of PILOTsManages PILOT teamDevelop optimized PILOT staffing model to support PFC growth/expansionDevelops PILOT Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement processesTransfer Acceptance Note chart reviewsAudio recording reviewsProject development (examples: transfer delays, patient and provider experience, documentation, guidelines for safe transfers, etc)Develops and optimizes operational/logistical /informational workflows (examples: PFC RN-to-MD handoffs, MD-to-MD handoffs, new facility processes)Investigate escalations involving PILOTs and/or HMDevelop Service-Line and Diagnosis-Based ProtocolsCreate PILOT job description to include a potential increase in scopeParticipates in PFC Peer Review CommitteeParticipates in PFC CouncilShares equitable PFC call responsibilityDevelops metrics and reports related to PILOTPublication/presentation developmentOchsner Health System is Louisianas largest non-profit, academic, healthcare system.
