Job Title : Underwriting AssistantReports to : Risk DirectorSalary : R30k - R40k / month (Suitability dependent)Location : Hybrid, Cape TownAbout UsOur client is a fast-growing fintech lending company based in the UK.
They specialize in legal cases.Minimum Requirements :University Graduate (Degree related to Law, Finance, Business or Accounting)Minimum of 2 years in complex lending, financial services or legal sector.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to speak to solicitors at large law firms and the ability to present to senior management.Ability to manage a large number of casesKey ResponsibilitiesManaging the collation of applications for funding and compiling supporting documentation for review by the underwriting team.Undertaking initial due diligence on complex financial matters and prospective borrowers.Compiling schedules of assets.Communicating with solicitors and prospective borrowers both over email and on the telephone, to ensure receipt of all information required for underwriting.Ensuring the company's compliance policies e.g.
AML & data protection etc are adhered to in line with FCA regulations.Updating senior members of the team on a regular basis on the status of applications across a large number of cases in the application workflow.Keeping borrowers and solicitors updated about the status of applications.Preparing loan documentation.Collating executed documentation.
