Job Purpose:To assess the current skill set within the business and to identify area's for improvement and further training. To take charge in development and implementation of learning interventions to improve productivity and elevate employee confidence levels. Training interventions should be aimed at improving employee's skill levels within the business and the overall performance of individuals within the business. The training consultant will also be responsible for updating and evaluating training content and aligning such with the goals of the businessReporting Structure:Training Consultant will report directly to the HR HOD / HR ManagerMinimum Requirements:Matric / Grade 12 National Diploma in Human Resource Management or relevant Qualification (advantageous)2+ years' experience in an HR / Training environment/roleValid Driver's License + own vehicle(Code 8 unendorsed – must be willing to travel to the company's stores nationally)SDF / Training Certifications (advantageous)Health and Safety Training Capabilities / Accreditation (advantageous)Main Responsibilities:Evaluate existing training and development programs within the businessEnsure training material is relevant and in line with the needs of the business andcurrent market trendsRevise, modify and update training materials within the businessCollaborate with internal departments and HODs to develop training materials that achieve defined learning outcomes and meet the needs within the businessCreate course materials and teaching aids that support content delivery and skills assessmentsConduct training sessions across the business with relevant content to various levels of employee's within the businessConduct effective training in person and via electronic meansCo-ordinate training interventions within the business including logistics and planningProvide day-to-day guidance and leadership to employee's within the organisationDeploy feedback tools to assess the effectiveness of the training curriculum and contentTrack training outcomes and ensure alignment with business objectivesIdentify individual and organizational obstacles to learning and facilitating training interventionsRespond to trainee questions and adjust course content to align with needs of learners / training audienceDevelop evaluation and feedback channelsAd Hoc duties assigned within an HR department environmentBrand Ambassador:Enhance the company's external brand and image through building relationships and partnering with key stakeholders in the training and development sectors to create and promote an attractive employer brand across the territories in which we operate and to ensure interventions meet the business needs and fits the culture of the businessDrive word-of-mouth employer brand awarenessReporting:Compile regular weekly, monthly and ad hoc project reports on training interventions / needs / requirements / roll-outsReport on training interventions that will benefit the business and/or are relevant withinthe retail industryDetermine metrics to track and monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of the trainingfunction within the businessKey Skills and Competencies:Ability to work under pressureAbility to use own initiative and make decisionsCreative and Forward ThinkingExcellent communication Skills on all levelsTeam PlayerComputer literateAccuracy and good attention to detailWillingness to learnExcellent people skills and ability to interact with persons on all levelsOrganized and DrivenProblem-solving abilityMarket Research SkillsAbility to Present as an Ambassador of the Business
