Trade Finance Transaction Specialist (12-Month Contract)

An exciting 12-month contract opportunity exists for a Trade Finance Transaction Specialist to join a dynamic team within a leading financial institution.
The successful candidate will assist the Trade Finance Transaction Manager in the operational execution, monitoring, and management of Trade Finance transactions.
This includes MIS analysis, facility and collateral management, risk mitigation, and compliance monitoring.
The role requires strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a deep understanding of trade finance products and processes.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in the execution and management of Trade Finance transactions, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.Perform daily reconciliations of cash cover, collateral, call, and margin accounts.Ensure all revenue and premiums are recovered before a file is closed.Load penalties for partial and late payments under Trade Finance products.Obtain approvals for initial and subsequent facility drawdowns.Ensure deals are executed in line with approval conditions and validated by management.Manage Escrow services, including reviewing submissions, matching agreements to joint instructions, and ensuring timely fund disbursement.Conduct MIS analysis to monitor trends and identify potential risks.Escalate concerns to management regarding declining income or overdue payments.Ensure strict monitoring and actioning of all internal controls to mitigate operational losses.Identify and report potential fraudulent transactions.Complete monthly compliance reports and ensure adherence to regulatory and sanctions requirements.Act as the primary contact for resolving deal-specific queries from both internal and external stakeholders.Deliver high-quality service within agreed SLAs across the organization.Maintain operational client relationships, escalating issues where necessary.Ensure that all legal agreements and CP documents are received and maintained.Key Qualifications & ExperienceB.Com or equivalent tertiary qualification in Finance, Banking, or Business.3-4 years of experience in Trade Services within Corporate or Investment Banking.Strong understanding of Trade Finance products, including:Back-to-BacksOpen Account Trade FinanceRisk ParticipationTrade LoansExchange Control & Escrow AccountsExperience working within a Trade Monitoring Unit (TMU) and Commodity Finance.
