All about the Overhead and Underground network How to install sub-duct and blow fibre cable How to operate a MEWP (Mobile elevating work platform) and learn how to work at heights on telegraph poles How to complete Intrusive surveys (Rodding & Roping) to locate blockages and establish clear cable routes How to produce job packs and Telecom drawings How to work safely and undertake tasks in the correct way How to ensure qualify work and adopt a "Right first time" approach How to produce risk assessments How to work in a large variety of environments; outdoors, data centres and telephone exchanges How the technology works for different customers in different environments How to work within a highly skilled, UK wide field force building your own knowledge and skills set Location Although our Telent field force work UK wide and travel is a key and necessary part of being a field engineer, we are looking to find applicants in the North West region.

This means that you will travel and complete work anywhere in the UK.
So be prepared to travel around the country and commute to different locations Summary Our telecommunication Apprentices work with some of the biggest names in the telecommunications field, from BT to CityFibre, updating infrastructure for essential services and residential customers.

Our Apprentices experience a variety of different rotations aimed at progressing their skills, knowledge and personal development, gaining valuable insight to the inner workings of various departments across Infrastructure Services.

This is an exciting role with great opportunities to progress your career in the telecommunication industry while gaining a Level 2 Telecoms Field Operative qualification at the same time.

The Specifics: The apprenticeship is up to 24 months long On completion of the scheme you will have a Level 2 qualification as a Telecoms Field Operative You will also gain industry recognised vendor certifications On completion you will be a fully qualified Telent field engineer and can integrate into the full-time workforce The apprenticeship is a managed scheme with a mix between apprenticeship portfolio work, classroom & virtual classroom learning, onsite shadowing and vendor exams This role will work regionally so a vehicle will be provided to enable your travel What will you need? Have a minimum of 3 GCSE's Grade 9-4 (A-C) which must include Maths & English and an IT or Science Based subject Have a Full UK driving licence Be 18 years of age from September 2021 Be able to undertake physically demanding work Have normal colour vision and hearing Be able to work at heights Do you have what it takes??
