Mandatory Requirements

The mandatory requirements for this position are:
Zero (0) – two (2) years of technology change management experience;
Relevant qualification; and
Knowledge of, or experience in, at least one of the following areas:Change management;
Organisational design / development;
Communication;
Leadership development; and
Training management.

Responsibilities and Job Function

The successful candidate will be required to:
Assist in driving change in the business;
Assist with the updating of the City of Cape Town policies, procedures and job descriptions;
Assist with the development and delivery of change management related strategies; for example, technical training strategies, leadership strategies and communication strategies;
Assist in conducting change impact assessments to assess and classify the impacts of the proposed change on affected stakeholders;
Assist in the identification of resistance and performance gaps, and to assist in the development and implementation of corrective actions;
Implement action plans to assist with driving faster adoption, greater utilisation and higher proficiency on the changes impacting the organisation;
Monitor and evaluate metrics for assessing change intervention effectiveness; and
Perform change interventions across the relevant City of Cape Town offices.

Knowledge and Skills

The general skills required for this position are:
Understanding of how people go through transformation and / or change;
Understanding of the change process as it relates to a technical implementation;
Knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and practices;
Ability to articulate ideas verbally and influence others in moving toward a common vision or goal;
Effective at analysing situations and proposing appropriate solutions;
Sound problem solving skills;
Ability to work effectively under supervision in a structured environment;
Ability to perform effectively at mid-management level in the organisation;
Ability to interpret and translate business needs into sound proposals; and
Ability to execute tasks to the required quality and time standards.

The technical skills required for this position are:
Change management methodologies and practices;
Basic internet and client/server architecture understanding; and
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

Qualifications
and Experience

The qualifications and experience related to this position are:
Appropriate and recognised formal business or change related tertiary qualification; and
Experience of Zero (0) – two (2) years within a business transformation or technology change management role.
