Great opportunity for an Electronic/Mechanical Engineer to join a company within the medical sector as a Technical Workshop Manager, to be based in Somerset West, Western Cape. The main objective of this role is to ensure that medical equipment is serviced and maintained according to company standards and in line with companys zero-defect policy. Minimum Educational and Training Requirements: B-ENG (Electro-Mechanical Engineering) with 1-2 years' work experience. Experience: The following areas of expertise is beneficial but further in-house training shall be provided: Planned, Preventative and reactionary maintenance of medical equipment; XXX-XXXX Medical Devices Quality Management Systems; Failure mode, effects, and criticality Analysis (FMECA); Manufacturing processes; Electronic Board level assembly / development; Fault analysis electrical and electronic systems; Logistics and transport management experience; Writing of technical manuals (e.g. Service Manuals, Work Instructions, Acceptance Test Reports,etc.) Functions Manage and supervise the servicing and maintenance of medical equipment on schedule and according to company standards Manage and supervise refurbishment of medical equipment on schedule and according to company standards Task management of technical personnel Training management of technical personnel Fault analysis Technical support advice Manage transportation of medical equipment Compliance with quality management system within service department Prepare instruction notes Maintain service information and records Procurement of necessary parts and materials Liaising with contractors Responsibilities Fault diagnostics, calibration and safety testing on medical equipment Quality acceptance testing of medical equipment Provide technical support and advice Planning and prioritizing scheduled services and refurbishments Maintain service records Report writing to management Daily, weekly, monthly work load prioritization Management and arrangements for planned national trips for transportation of medical equipment Other Requirements: Very good analytical ability Solid understanding of electrical and electronic fundamentals Insight in mechanical fundamentals Understand schematic diagrams (PCB, Wiring-and assembly diagrams) Working with measuring equipment (soldering, complex assemblies, wiring looms basic mechanical work) Excellent communication skills in English and Afrikaans (speak, read, write) Good report writing skills Flexibility to work overtime when required Salary R20k to R25k, dependant on experience.
