The role involves accurately setting out legal provisions and creating a clear narrative statement to reflect the relevant proposition. ResponsibilitiesWriting and editing statements of the law for publication, following house styleEnsuring all material included is accurate by conducting detailed legal research and closely monitoring legal developmentsPlanning, organizing and editing material for publication as discrete volumes/titles, liaising with senior team members and others with regards to contentLiaising with and monitoring progress of external consultants to ensure deadlines are metCollaborating closely with offshore production team and dealing with day-to-day operational problems that occur within own areaContributing to commercial development/enhancement of the product as appropriate, generating ideas to improve functionality (online or offline) of contentHelping to identify and drive cost savings and revenue enhancing/protecting opportunities across team and departmentPerforming any other duties as reasonably requestedRequirementsHave a law degree or equivalent experience.Experience in legal publishing and/or legal practice experienceExperience demonstrating a clear understanding of the way English and Welsh law develops and of conducting independent legal researchPossess editorial skills and excellent written English as well as the ability to understand, navigate and present complex legal material articulately and accuratelyShow interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and professional manner for routine contact with geographically diverse authors/consultants, colleagues, customers and vendorsHave excellent time management skills to meet rigid and frequent deadlinesBe technically proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), have familiarity with content management systems and an interest in learning new systems/technologiesWork in a way that works for youWe promote a healthy work/life balance across the organisation.
