This incumbent will join a dynamic team of Factory production professionals in our Pinetown facility reporting to the Production Manager to add much needed value while growing within the company.About the RoleThe Factory Team Leader role is responsible for Health & Safety of the employees and factory facilities, leading & controlling production, ensuring quality control and standards are met in both raw material and finished product while achieving production outputs. The role calls for an incumbent that has a proven track record of successfully leading and managing production teams within an organized labour environment.

What You Will Do• You will manage, lead and be responsible factory outputs that meet customer demand and requirements.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain team to evaluate weekly production plan and ensure that sufficient raw materials are ordered to enable shift production volumes are met.
• You will be a role model for Health & Safety of employees and facilities. Ensure GMP conditions are maintained on all equipment, processes and employees.
• You will be responsible for production Quality ie. Input raw material and finished product.
• Record and report all problems experienced on the production line. Lead investigations into problem-solving and follow through until problems are resolved. 
• Develop and facilitate continuous improvement action driven methods to reduce waste.
• Accurately record, investigate and report all material and labour variances to Production Manager.
• Manage team performance by agreed intervals and monitor areas of underperformance for upskilling and corrective development; 
• Manage discipline of employees within the factory
• You will be responsible and accountable for effective communication, including but not limited to Daily Operational Meetings (DOMs).
 
Who You Are• Must have a tertiary qualification in Operations/ Production Management or Industrial Engineering.
• Must have 3 - 5 years proven successful experience in a Production lead role.
• Must have a experience and clear understanding of ISO standards in a manufacturing environment
• Must have a high level of technical competence be results-driven.
• Must have effective communication skills with methodical approach to problem solving techniques.
• Must have an open mind with clear business acumen in assessing any risks and business decisions.
