Develop and be accountable for the execution of the go to market strategy for the direct tax sub-unit Participate in the development of the go to strategy for tax service live growth in the provinces and in the SADEC region. Practice management Co-accountable for profit, delivery, quality, capacity building and capacity management sub-tax unit Monitoring performance against budgets for the year and report on inconsistencies to sub-tax unit Enforcing compliance with internal business processes and customer management processes, and including good governance policies, risk management and quality control practices People and talent management Driving the implementation of talent management policies and processes for mentees and set clearly defined KPI’s Ensuring the technical development of mentees in the organization and manage talent management processes including talent acquisition, succession planning, career management Managing the performance of own team Ensure that skills\competences meet market demand Innovation fundamental to distinguish firm from the competition in the marketplace Work with service line leader to engage in necessary research and formulate strategic approaches Qualification and Experience Honour’s degree in Tax (BCom Honour’s or Law degree or equivalent); Master’s degree is advantageous Minimum of 6 years’ experience as a tax practitioner at senior level with exposure in corporate tax, Experience in a professional services firm is essential, Technologically proficient i.e. tax technology and including business development, presentation and influencing skills Manage complexity Influencing others Good business acumen An innovative and ethical leader who will participate in the transformation and building of the tax practice A strategic, independent thinker who can demonstrate flexibility with a business in its transition phase and develop relationships with clients Business acumen and a quest to identify gaps in the current portfolio Proactive, persuasive, solutions-driven and culturally adaptive Excellent communicator who will also serve as a coach and mentor to staff High EQ with the ability to act autonomously where necessary and take responsibility for actions
