Duties & Responsibilities
Take customer orders and prepare food according to their specifications.
Prepare and cook meats, fish, vegetables, gravies, cereals, soups, fruits, bakery products, and other food items.
Prepare and cook food for special diets based on recipes formulated by qualified personnel.
Assist in on-the-job training and supervise food service workers, students, and other employees within the area of assignment.
Plan and manage work orders to ensure all items of an order are finished and served simultaneously.
Assist in preparing salads and desserts.
Grill, cook, and fry foods.
Notify the supervisor of food and supplies needed; check in food and supplies as necessary.
Maintain food production records.
Clean kitchen, utensils, and equipment; secure refrigerator and freezer.
Serve food as required and maintain high standards of sanitation and safety.
Promptly report equipment and food quality issues to the kitchen manager.
Use standardized recipe cards for all food preparations.
Be able to work shifts, including weekends.

2-4 years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
Qualifications
Matric qualification.
Relevant culinary qualification.
