Talentedge have recently been engaged in sourcing for a dynamic Systems Accountant for a leading ecommerce travel business. You will ideally have experience working within the travel industry having been exposed to CAA/ATOL and have in depth experience using SUN Systems.

Key duties

- Manage the migration project of the bespoke reconciliation platform to an in house solution
- Continuous maintenance and evolution of reconciliation platform once migration project completed
- Ownership of the entire reconciliation system, including working with our technology partners to drive system improvements around efficiency, control and reporting
- Process design / improvement
- Maintain strong financial control environment
- Ensure best practice and continuous improvement of controls, policies and procedures within the finance function
- Work with the accounts team to confirm posting from the reconciliation system into the accounting system
- Liaising with Operations to understand new work flows and how that interacts with the reconciliation platform
- Ad-hoc project work as required

Qualifications and experience

- Experience in complex process mapping and migration projects
- Strong process improvement experience
- Analytical mind-set being able to review large amounts of data, identify key trends and summarise accordingly
- Methodical individual with a good attention to detail
- Ability to manage priorities effectively with commercial acumen
- Excellent communication skills
- Accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA)
- Self-starter, who is willing and able to take initiative
- Team player
- Organised and task focused in order to meet deadlines

The following are not required by would be advantageous:

- Knowledge of SUN accounting system;
- Experience in the leisure industry
