About the roleWe are looking for a Manager Supplier Development to develop preferential procurement and supplier development strategy, run preferential procurement and enterprise & supplier development forums and programs, and monitor performance in order to meet the objectives of the Operating Business Unit in South Africa.

Reporting to the Senior Business Partner Procurement, the primary function of the Manager Supplier Development is the development of the Preferential Procurement function, facilitating progress towards achieving the objectives of the Mining Charter, DTI Codes of Good Practice, Transformation Charters, and internally established targets for localized Supplier spend
As the Manager Supplier Development, you will be responsible in:
Establishing a Supplier Development Program, facilitating progress towards achieving the objectives of the localization of spend and local supplier engagement
Establishing an Enterprise Development Program, facilitating progress towards achieving the objectives of social and economic impact intended
Guiding and influencing large, strategic supplier transformations across the Supply Chain Tracks and proactively responds to changes in the government public policy around Supplier diversity and Supply Chain related BBBEE legislation

Developing and entrenching transformation processes in the Strategic Sourcing tools and systems
Develop the strategy and plan to achieve transformation targets and project manage delivery of transformation and localization program
Custodian, maintenance and implementation of the Supply Chain policies and practices for Preferential Procurement, including Supplier Development.
Manages Preferential Procurement and Supply Development Performance, including establishment of frameworks, appropriate KPI’s, target measurement, reporting and key decision making
Identifies and facilitates activities resulting in a competitive advantage for RBM through the utilization of MCIII compliant and host community Suppliers within the Supply Chain.
Identifies and facilitates various initiatives or interventions through collaboration with appropriate partners as part of developing Suppliers in line with overall objectives to participate in opportunities and meet targets
Shaping supplier/Category transformation strategies based on the Category and supplier positioning
Constructively challenging and coaching end users on their supply chain effectiveness.
Tracks Enterprise and Supplier Development interventions, strategy and policy across the Group to ensure effective monitoring and reporting on progress made
Business relations establishment and management (DMRE, DTI, Mincosa)
Work with supplier development beneficiaries to increase their skill levels in technical and business skills to enable these beneficiaries to deliver according to the required high standards, be more successful in service provision to RBM, and to gain more business
Networking opportunities for Suppliers and Enterprises to ensure growth and diversity of their markets

Assist beneficiaries is increasing turnover by working with them to improve operations and decrease inefficiencies.
Establishing a Supplier Development Fund and getting senior management approval for a Fund investment
Establishing an Investment Committee consisting of select senior management to govern Supplier Development investments
Building collaborative relationships with government stakeholders, suppliers, business users, top management

About youTo be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
Relevant Commercial / Finance Degree;

At least 5 years relevant experience in a similar role;

License: EB;
