THE JOB AT A GLANCE:You will create an environment that is conducive to Tiger Brands continuous improvement in the fields of Health, Safety, Security and Environmental compliance, enabling Tiger Brands to achieve its objectives in the above-mentioned fields of legal compliance and social responsibility.
You will implement and maintain the international safety and environmental management systems and ensure the site adherence to all SHE related legislation.WHAT YOU WILL DO:Facilitate the identification of site risks with the HODs and lead the documentation of the risk assessment matrices.Drive capability building for SHE at the site with the support of the SC Academy and HRD Personnel.Act as the custodian of safe working practices.Ensure that all work is carried out according to SHE policies, standards, and procedures by implementing a behavioral based safety program on site.Supply SHE guidance and support to the site and monitor compliance through the facilitation of SHE incident investigations being conducted and following-up on actions completed.Utilize root cause analysis tools for identifying and implementing preventative actions for SHE.Adjust the system to tailor it for each type of operation and activity.Update the system as changes occur within legislation and at Tiger Brands Manufacturing sites.Build up a database of all National, Provincial and Municipal legislation.Summarize legislation into key areas of responsibilities.Design best practices based on legislative requirements.Train applicable persons in the correct application of such best practices.Implement and monitor best practice implementation.Assist all manufacturing and non-manufacturing sites in Tiger Brands with legal compliance aspects.Ensure that sites understand the requirements and how they must be implemented.Provide training where required and requested.Inform Tiger Sites of new legislative requirements and their applicability.Ensure that all Legal Appointments as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act are in place and updated.Keep database updated.Liaise with vendors to ensure legal approval.Gather information from all Tiger Brands sites on utility usage and history of utility outage.Evaluate the effectiveness of current Utility outage measures.Implement prevention of further loss and effective post-loss remedial measures.Conduct successful investigation of matters leading to disciplinary action & or criminal prosecution.Ensure personal integrity and constitutional rights are not infringed.Contain loss and identify perpetrators.Provide accurate information for internal disciplinary enquiries & Criminal prosecution.Design new standards and update the Tiger Brands Environmental System to adapt to new legislation and requirements.Provide training workshops to inform Tiger Brands sites of possible changes and their impacts.Gather information from all Tiger Brands sites on a monthly basis.Compile reports on a fixed agreed format.Distribute monthly Risk reports to applicable designated persons.Liaise with Alexander Forbes (MARSH) and all Tiger Brands sites to set out pre-determined dates for auditing and profiling.Attend meetings with Alexander Forbes (MARSH) to ensure that auditing is done correctly.Evaluate Audit reports for compliance.Organize special investigations as required with the assistance of Alexander Forbes (MARSH) if needed.Evaluate Insurance standards and recommend changes if required.Assist Tiger Brands sites with formal and informal investigations of accidents in the workplace.Attend formal enquiries from the Department of Labour and assist Tiger Brands sites with legal stance.ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:Experience: Minimum of 8 Years Risk Management experience in the Food/Beverage industry.Qualifications: National Higher Diploma Environmental Health or NADSAM; Qualification in Legal aspects of the Occupational Health.About Us:Tiger Brands is proudly Africa's largest listed manufacturer of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG).
