Software Engineer who loves solving problems that make the lives of colleagues better. Are you passionate about web development? Do you have plenty of experience working in development with a proven track record delivering systems? Are you looking for a challenging role to help architect, design and build a cutting-edge React application?
Someone who might be a bit of a hacker, enjoy playing with software or Solution Architect who enjoys looking at problems and bringing together solutions.
We need an ambitious, motivated and talented architect to join our team building the next generation of software aimed at the not-for-profit sector.
The company is very successful and been singled out as a business 'to watch' two years on the trot and just secured a massive injection of capital for further expansion internationally.
We are looking for someone who enjoys 'getting their hands dirty', sitting with different teams, seeing how they work and helping by putting together prototypes which solve issues and make tasks/processes easier and better. Thus saving time through development and making a difference.
To enjoy and be successful in this role you will need to have solid Development skills but not be fazed by getting stuck in to other technologies. You will be working dynamically, so getting your head around how people work, building a picture of what would help them and building prototypes as you go.
Once the prototypes are completed and everyone is happy with them the end product will be built by a separate Development Team.
There may be an opportunity to work from home one day a week; the office is based in central London,
You will be helping a small team in a start-up environment. The role is extremely hands on covering the full software lifecycle: one day you could be writing the spec for our new product, the next white boarding its technical design, the next writing code with other developers to build that vision and of course ensure the on-going success of all our clients through maintenance & support, bug fixing and adding new features. There will be lots of opportunity to contribute to architectural decisions as well as the actual coding.
- Willing to be measured by your output and the value you bring, not the hours you log
- Keen to take responsibility and use your experience, ideas and energy to drive the project to success
- Outstanding at communicating both verbally and in written English (and more than tech - speak!)
- Detail oriented and meticulous about quality
- Constantly looking to learn and improve
- Understand how important good, disciplined process is; in software development as well as communication and project management
You need to:
- Have experience in React, or maybe Java or Node JS or Ruby or Python or .net
- Be knowledgeable on the design of APIs, tools and dashboards
The tools and technologies we use matter only because of the results they enable us to deliver. Therefore, the ideal person will bring the correct mind-set, ability to learn and adapt along with as wide a range of technical experience as possible.
What’s in it for you?
You will bring your experience, ideas and energy to the role. There is huge opportunity to further develop your technical skills.
The role is a full-time position working from the UK.
We are more interested in results than micro-managing which means there is flexibility in the exact working hours.
