Position Purpose:
Providing technical HCM system support and/or advice as well as effecting the continuous improvement, development and
upgrading of HCM Systems (on premise and cloud), other HR and payroll systems and delivery channels, including SAP,
Portal, Document Management, Employee Interaction Centre, Analytics, Success Factors, Business Intelligence, integration
to other SAP systems.
Position outputs:
Provide end user support and targeted training on functionalities and system maintenance.
Coordinate and assist in creating new and advanced SAP HR enhancements, developments and configurations.
Embed organizational capabilities that will enable a sustainable competitive advantage.
Design and maintain applicable documentation including detail functional specification, configuration documents, blue print
and test scripts.
Ensure the aligned implementation and maintenance of appropriate policies, processes and practice on HR systems on time.
Responsible for the specifications and enhancement of existing functionality and keeping up to date with the latest trends and
system patches.
Identify training needs of end users and develop and/or coordinate the development and provision of the necessary training
to meet those needs
Governance of process & systems integrity.
Manage customer Satisfaction Internal/External.
Implement processes and standards across Operational Divisions.
Test system upgrades and support packages.
Monitor and maintain Self-service workflows.
Design and maintain BPP’s, FDS’s, and test scripts.
Configure on SAP Payroll including schema, Compensation Management and Time and attendance including the schema
and related remuneration systems.
Perform HR related integration tasks to SAP Finance/Logistics systems and other Finance/Logistics systems
Perform all tasks in the development cycle, starting from business process definition, to configuration and unit testing,
assistance and follow-up with appropriate user testing, to co-ordination of transports to Production, to training and post-live
support and fixes.
Provide Operational and day-to-day support to Transnet OD’s on, SAP Payroll, Time Management, Compensation
Management on other HR and payroll systems.
Promote and develop continuous improvement culture across the organisation.
Assess, analyze and evaluate request changes prior to presentation to the Human Capital Change Advisory Board.
Apply risk assessment and management principles in system configuration process.
Network effectively, negotiate well and influence people, broker relationships with stakeholders within and outside the SAP
Support structure
Ensure that internal and external communications are effective
Establishing a mechanism to ensure regular dialogue with various process specialists to promote problem solving, team
working and risk-sharing.
Facilitate the design and maintenance of Business Processes (BP’) s, Functional Detail Specification (DFS’s) and test scripts.
Implement processes and standards across Operational Divisions
Organise and facilitate end user testing including test script completion.
Qualifications & Experience:
NQF Level 6 – B Degree with Behavioural Science and/Information and Communication Technology.
SAP certification
± 8 years’ experience in the SAP configuration and schemas.
Experience in payroll, time and/or compensation management configuration, and Talent, performance management and
Experience and Knowledge of SA legislation pertaining to SARS returns (IRP5, PAYE, other) and legislative reporting in this
