Snr Specialist: Systems Engineer

Must have Virtualisation experience with certification in VMWare.

Core Description:

Technical lead on expert level for data center
virtualization services, primarily VMware or
Microsoft based, but also other hypervisors.
• Elevated research, design and architecture
solutioning capability and skills.
• Unsupervised, responsible for installation
and operational support of Virtualization
Infrastructure and related back-end systems.
• Advanced solution documentation and
drafting skills, including reference
architectures, baseline documentation and
standards.
• Advanced capacity management and
balancing, rightsizing and demand versus
supply management.
• Effectively executesallrelated tasks within
the support areas with the focus on SLA
management and delivery against these.
• Participation in project planning and
implementations
• Experienced with Cloud Platforms- - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Key Deliverables / Primary Functions:

Primarily responsible for :
• Primary and Shared Services clients support
• Virtualization infrastructure support –
o VMware Virtualization infrastructure,
o Microsoft Virtualization Infrastructure
o Capacity Management Tools (e.g. Turbonomics)
• Back-End infrastructure applications support
• Virtual Workload Management
• Pre-Sales Support and Solution Review
• Consultative Engagement with Existing and Prospective Clients
• Research and Innovation/Automation
• Participating in Capacity Management & Data Analytics
• ITIL based management methodology
• Documentation/Technical Authoring
• Hardware/Software Installation
• Cross-Competency Systems Integration
• Systems Testing and Quality Assurance
• Dedicated Cloud and Hybrid Cloud Solutions
• Technical leading capacity to team members

Qualifications:
Matric or Grade 12 or NQF4
• Information Technology - national diploma or
bachelor’s degree (optional)
• Relevant Information Technology technical
qualification
• ITIL Foundation v3/v4
• Driver’s license minimum code 08
Experience:

Minimum of 10+ years relevant technical
experience
• Experience in cloud virtualization industry
will be advantageous
• Technical understanding of the industry
