A leading supplier of electrical and solar products is looking for a Senior Field Technician to join their team in Durban.
This role requires a hands-on technical professional with expertise in electrical and/or electronic systems, particularly inverters, batteries, and renewable energy solutions.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for installations, troubleshooting, and on-site support while ensuring excellent service delivery to clients.
Key Responsibilities: Install, maintain, and repair electrical and solar power systems, including inverters and battery storage solutions. Diagnose and resolve technical issues on-site to minimize downtime for clients. Conduct system inspections, performance testing, and preventative maintenance. Provide technical support and training to clients regarding product usage and troubleshooting. Maintain accurate records of service visits, repairs, and client interactions. Collaborate with internal teams to report technical issues and suggest product improvements. Ensure all work complies with industry regulations and company standards. Travel to client sites as required, with flexibility in scheduling. Requirements: Experience: Proven experience in electrical and/or electronic systems, preferably within the renewable energy sector. Knowledge: Familiarity with inverters, batteries, and solar energy solutions. Technical Skills: Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with clients. Flexibility: Willingness to travel frequently and adapt to varying schedules. License & Vehicle: Valid driver's license and access to a reliable working vehicle. Work Ethic: Reliability, precision, and a proactive approach to work. Own reliable transport Preferred Qualifications: Diploma or certification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Renewable Energy, or a related field. Previous experience as a field technician in the electrical or solar industry.
