Responsibilities: Performing administration and maintenance of the company's infrastructure in order to ensure operational performance, capacity, and implementation of future technology infrastructure strategy. Planning, directing, and coordinating the design, installation, and connectivity of computer systems and network infrastructure across multiple operating system platforms (e.g. Windows, UNIX, Linux, etc.) to ensure the stable operation of the organisation's IT assets. This includes developing, configuring, maintaining, monitoring, supporting, and optimising all new and existing network hardware, software, and communication links. Managing and ensuring effectiveness of security solutions, including firewalls, antivirus solutions, and intrusion detection systems. Ensuring that the production and disaster recovery data centers, network and all associated technology services and infrastructure operate efficiently, perform within agreed targets and deliver a secure platform for the organisation to carry out its business. Responsible for delivering support within agreed SLAs and to a high degree of customer satisfaction. Managing implementation of identified projects based on a broad and detailed knowledge of current and emerging technologies and to provide technical input into projects undertaken by or impacting on the company. Skills / Experience: Degree level education or equivalent combination of relevant skills and experience. ITIL Foundation or Practitioner certificate. Conversant in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) processes, procedures, and roles required. 5 years of experience managing and configuring enterprise wide LANs, WANs, WLANs, VPNs. Strong computing server and storage administrator skills. Extensive knowledge of computing support roles, including security administration, service desk, and application support. In-depth understanding of Microsoft operating systems and Office applications, Solaris, UNIX, Linux, and Cisco. Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware such as servers, routers, bridges, switches, hubs, modems, network interface cards, and so on. Ability to perceive underlying practices that affect computing system performance and identify potential systems improvements. Experience with delivering time-critical services. Experience in working with outsource providers. Decisive and must be able to use initiative to make quick decisions to resolve problems and overcome obstacles. Analytical, results driven, responsible, high stress tolerance and attention to detail.
