Senior Structural Engineer

Mid to Senior Structural Engineer Job Vacancy – Somerset West, WCOur Structural Engineering firm is looking to appoint a Mid to Senior level Structural Engineer to join our Somerset West Office.To fulfil the responsibilities of this role, you are expected to be detail-oriented, creative, and possess problem-solving skills, display an investigative nature and must be accurate, commercially aware, and have great communication skills.
This is a collaborative position that will allow the engineer to learn from those around them while also getting a chance to work autonomously on projects from concept to completion.
This position will involve taking on a team-lead role to assist junior engineers to develop their skills while still performing your own designs.Structural Engineer Duties and Responsibilities:Assist in structural design and detailing of various structures (Steel, Concrete, Masonry).Create technical drawings and project specifications.Liaise with professionals such as architects, specialist engineers, clients, and contractors.Perform site inspections of structural elements.Perform a team-lead role assisting junior engineers to develop their skills.Structural Engineer Requirements and Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.3-8 years experience.Experience with AutoCAD, or similar computer-aided detailing software.
Revit is a plus.Experience with BIM design software, such as Prokon.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.What we offer:An opportunity to work on a variety of projects from concept to completion including performing various site inspections.
