To take responsibility for the strategy, management and optimization of specifically YouTube as the Multi-Channel Network Manager for MultiChoice and any FVOD opportunities that may appear on other platforms such as Facebook, for the purposes of organic marketing, content discovery, customer acquisition and monetization.
To devise and execute strategies to grow MultiChoice and its partner YouTube channels based on data analysis and online video trends that exist for both long and short-form video.Key Performance ObjectivesTasksMarketingTranslate business strategy into a strategy for the entire MultiChoice YouTube Multichannel Network (MCN) that addresses business needs, focusing on acquisition of subscribers to MultiChoice platforms.
Work closely with the content teams to identify how content that is currently produced or acquired can be optimized in the social and online space ? provide input on release strategy and tactical online activations.
Leverage YouTube as a key content discovery and organic marketing tool/platform.
Provide YouTube best practices and strategies to maximise opportunities for the broader Multichoice group.
Advise and coordinate with the creative/marketing teams on the development and production of YouTube-specific videos to drive content discovery.
Support the marketing teams and their campaigns through YouTube to drive additional organic acquisitions and content discovery.
Optimize and drive the usage of conversion mechanisms on YouTube, such as cards to meet business goals.
Support paid and performance marketing throughout the business when using YouTube.MultiChoice YouTube Multi Channel Network ManagementKnowledge of all aspects of channel management, including scheduling, posting, metadata optimization, and audience engagement.
Analyzing and reporting on performance from both a qualitative and quantitative perspective and presenting YouTube-specific insights/trainings and notes to the MultiChoice YouTube channel teams to achieve business objectives.
Helping identify benchmarks for success on YouTube for the business, and taking a goal-oriented approach to hitting these benchmarks as well as the benchmarks set within Group Digital.
Work with DStv Media Sales to develop and implement revenue generation opportunities within YouTube.
Assist the piracy team in managing owned content piracy and take measures to reduce online exposure and impact on consumption.
Syndicate and seed content to 3rd party publishers; Create and manage these relationships as well as building them within the YouTube community.
Build relationships with Google and YouTube to find opportunities for MultiChoice.
Manage and control the Multichannel Network (MCN); from looking after and solving any channel copyright claims or disputes; to asset management within YouTube?s Content ID and overarching Multichannel Network (MCN) analytics and reporting.Qualifications Essential:
Appropriate BA degree and/or Qualification in film/video/digital video or relatedExperience
Minimum of 5+ years? practical industry experience in social or online environments
YouTube Channel Management experience, extensive digital audience development experience, with a minimum of 4 years building audience for online content through social media and digital marketing
A solid understanding of what works on YouTube and why
Excellent communication skills and proven track record in reporting to stakeholders at all levels within organisations, including oral and written presentations, proposals, and reports
Excels at operating in a fast paced, collaborative and creative environment, with a demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards
Proven success launching and maintaining a high-performance YouTube channel
Project Management skills
Proficiency in MS Office, Final Draft, Google suit assets and moreTechnical Competencies
Insight into, and curiosity about, what makes editorial and viral videos work
