They have an opportunity for an experienced Information Systems professional to lead a dynamic portfolio of projects that aims to transform the way data and information are used in the ECD sector. The candidate will work with senior management and government partners to provide strategic direction and management of their Knowledge, Information and Data Solutions (KiDS) initiative. Key components of the project include developing and testing a District Management Information System, supporting government to maintain their database, and coordinating the annual development and publication of the South African Early Childhood Review.
Key Responsibility Areas:
Ongoing ownership and responsibility for the strategy execution in collaboration with Government partners and senior management team.
Collaborate with the ECD sector on data collection and standardisation.
Work with service providers to develop training packages for officials and journalists to use ECD data meaningfully.
Work with management to recruit & manage service providers to design and test a MIS for ECD.
Play a lead role in working with government to develop a solution to standardise and digitize the paper-based monitoring system currently used by government.
Work with researchers and analysts to coordinate inputs into the SA Early Childhood Review.
Provide M&E support to Ilifa implementing partners and government.
Ensure that data collected through Ilifa programmes is properly housed, analysed and published.

Key Requirements:
At least 7 – 10 years project management experience in a similar role in public or private sector.
Experience setting up and/or managing large scale Management Information Systems either in private or public sector.
Experience with MIS in the public sector will be advantageous.
Demonstrated knowledge of development, strengthening and maintenance of M&E systems, including indicator development, data collection and analysis, data validation and quality control and audits, and performance reporting.
Knowledge of available database technologies and interoperability between technologies.
Experience conducting data analysis and presenting findings.
Evidence of publication track record using quantitative data preferable.
