The Department of Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Procurement Officer to join our team in the North region.
The procurement officer is a crucial role in managing the non-stock clinic consumable purchasing, including management of a team and high-priority purchasing functions.
The Team:Our procurement/purchasing team is essential in providing key purchasing tasks and clear and precise communication to the Tasmanian Health Services in the North.
The team works together to achieve the best service outcomes possible.
The Role:Coordinate the procurement of relevant goods and services for THO-North and support the Statewide Purchasing team.
This role covers team management & training of complex purchasing scenarios, leave, RDOs, and prioritising of daily workloads.Performance evaluation, training, and the maintenance of training plans for new and existing procurement staff.Ensure policies, procedures, and Treasury Guidelines are adhered to by Procurement Officers.Communication/engagement with Launceston General Hospitals department teams and key stakeholders, such as Nurse Unit Managers and Ward Aides.
This role also covers purchasing for district hospitals and off-site clinics.Duties:Oversee the procurement function of goods and services for THO-North and assist in the coordination and roll out of new equipment.Supervise procurement staff, including undertaking performance evaluation, training, and the maintenance of a training plan for new and existing procurement staff.Ensure policies, procedures, and Treasury Guidelines are adhered to by Procurement Officers.Details of appointment: Permanent full-time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Salary:$81,915 - $94,263 per annum.
Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.Salary Packaging:You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
