To provide direction on the implementation of non-financial risk management to the respective functional business areas supported. Act as a trusted non-financial risk management business partner that equips business with the tools to mitigate non-financial risks.
Job Purpose

To provide direction on the implementation of non-financial risk management to the respective functional business areas supported. Act as a trusted non-financial risk management business partner that equips business with the tools to mitigate non-financial risks.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Business unit Operational Risk Strategy and framework deployment.
Provide input into the functional area business strategy ensuring alignment with the desired non-financial risk profile.
Drive effective execution of the non-financial risk strategy and framework, aligned to business specific requirements, in line with the risk appetite statements and Group policy.
Continuously improve the existing framework to ensure consideration of emerging risks and threats.
Contribute to the development of a risk and control culture in the functional area through knowledge sharing and creating awareness on the importance of risk management.
Share the non-financial risk framework and methods proactively through participation in employee orientation sessions, training of risk champions, and creating awareness in executive engagement sessions.
Act as the single interface for Non-Financial Risk Management in the functional area. Lead and control non-financial risk management to ensure the business is prepared to withstand the test of any current and future non-financial risks by influencing the relevant stakeholders.
Drive the adoption of AMA (Advanced Measurement Approach) principles in business to ensure full ownership and understanding of operational risk management and its related capital implications.
Effective Operational risk monitoring and prevention
Facilitate the risk and control self-assessment implementation in the functional area in terms of coverage, frequency, participation and assurance activities. Develop risk management plans with the business unit leadership team in line with risk assessment results.
Align monitoring activity with Internal Audit scope of reviews to ensure collaboration and avoid duplication.
Influence and monitor progress of action plans arising from risk assessments, risk monitoring, internal and external audits and regulatory inspections to improve the risk and control environment.
Use external data to benchmark against trends or actual control environments itself.
Work with functional areas to improve their control frameworks based on the assessment.
Guide the detailed analysis of recurring issues and determine which control failures are at the root cause.
Review the reports and issues arising and determine the most appropriate course of action.
Participate in the development of training and awareness programmes on the prevention of risk in the business.
Monitor findings of other assurance functions and provide insights into the specific risk and control environment.
Optimise the risk profile in the functional area
Review all material planned changes in the functional area - strategy changes, product changes, segment changes, system changes and process changes - and provide a view of the potential risks that the changes may bring into the organisation.
For residual risk, support the business to analyse the impacts and drive the formal process of risk acceptance, where relevant.
Ensure that there are processes in place to track the progress of remedial actions underway for control improvements.
Perform trend analysis on all the incidents, audit findings, identified risks (be it information, technical or operational) to provide a complete picture of the risk profile of the area and to highlight trends.
Preform trend analysis on world-wide, banking, financial trends.
Compile reports to be presented at Board sub-committees, Group Manco, Steerco, RCC, GNFRC, GROC
Preferred Qualification and Experience

Qualifications:
Professional qualification and/or significant experience in Risk Management, Accounting, Finance or Audit
