Job Purpose: The Department of Agriculture, Western Cape Government seeks a suitably qualified and competent individual to ensure the presentation of practical and theoretical classes/courses within a specific subject field to students and other role players in agriculture.
Minimum Requirements: An appropriate 4-year BSc degree (equivalent or higher qualification) in Viticulture and Oenology.A minimum of 6 years appropriate experience.Recommendation: Successfully completed training as an assessor and/or moderator.Expertise to teach related subject.Key Performance Areas: Ensure that classes are conducted by supervisees.Develop and implement the academic curriculum for the subject field.Conduct classes.Prepare lesson plans and present practical, theoretical and/or short courses.Ensure that student advisory services are provided.Perform and oversee administrative and related functions.Keep abreast of the applicable prescripts, policies, procedures, technologies and new developments in the subject field.Renew and develop course material and study guides.Skills Needed: Proven knowledge of the subject field; Supervisory and management; Communication (written and verbal); Computer literacy; Leadership; Planning and Organising; Formal training and presentation.
Remuneration: R 444 036 - R 532 602 per annum (Salary level 9)
Note on remuneration: In addition, service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc.)
are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
Selection Process: Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting.
These candidates will be required to do a practical and attend interviews on a date and time determined by the department and may also be required to undergo competency assessments/proficiency tests.
The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
