We focus on biodiversity dynamics, ecological systems, evolutionary processes, and interactions between marine and terrestrial organisms and their environments, with an emphasis on terrestrial vertebrate evolutionary ecology.We seek candidates eager to contribute through innovative teaching, research, and training.
For more on our research focus areas, visit our website.Responsibilities include:Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules in evolution and ecology, including advanced behavioural and evolutionary ecology.Developing current lecture series for Biodiversity and Ecology programs.Establishing active research programs and publishing in peer-reviewed journals.Presenting research at national and international conferences.Supervising postgraduate students, especially in terrestrial vertebrate systems.Securing research funding and participating in departmental and faculty activities.Minimum Requirements:A PhD in Zoology, Ecology, or Evolutionary Biology, with a research focus on ornithology or terrestrial vertebrate ecology.Proven teaching experience at tertiary level, especially in evolution, ecology, and statistics (R environment).Evidence of publications in international journals and supervision of postgraduate students.Ability to secure external research funding.Additional information:Applicants for senior positions should demonstrate active research, proficiency in R coding, and a track record of funding success.
