Purpose of the Position:
Deliver business requirements by means of De-Risking technology using technology and business case research.
Highly complex R&D development including: expert to master level software and hardware architecting, cloud, server and embedded software development and related end to end system integration, debugging, troubleshooting, development of hardware of software fixes.
A minimum 12-15 years track recording of architecting, design and developing software and hardware solution that solve company problems and bring delight to consumers
Manage many silicon, hardware and software providers to design hardware and software R&D solutions that brings real business value – typically resulting in $ millions savings for the company or new features to delight customers.
Perform software development, hardware design, corrective and preventative maintenance duties of legacy MultiChoice IPTV systems and support and consultation regarding Sat>IP and Fibre systems to key stakeholders.
Negotiating with business, product management, up to C level on the proposed new concepts, developments and hand over to product team.Key Performance Objectives
Deliver business cases through means of research, creative design and development/implementation of new technology and system changes
Industry and market research and technology tracking documented and presented potential opportunities to stakeholders.
Provide technical support and analysis for all Production Services technology (TAC, Command Centre, FDT or for Shared Services Platforms)
Facilitate technical coordination and negotiation with all internal and external stake holders on new innovations designs, roadmaps, technical specifications and impact assessment on existing deployments.
Provide feedback on deliverables through appropriate communication channels and technical report writing

Minimum Diploma in Electrical Engineering, B. Tech/BSc Electronics preferredExperience
At least 15 years work experience in a technology development environment
A minimum 8 years’ experience in Television post and/or pre-production environments, design and development
DVB knowledge is a mandatory with at least 8+ years’ experience
Systems Thinking - the ability to see how parts interact with the whole (big picture thinking)
Emotional intelligence - self-awareness, confidence, ability to manage conflict, empathy
Video Streaming and and Control Protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, RTP, RTMP, Multicast handling, RTSP, DIAL, SSDP, HTTP)
Networking knowledge (CCNA or equivalent)
Development and Maintenance of Database (SQL, SQLite, RDBMS/NoSQL)
Experience in IPTV systems (Appear TV, Exterity and Sat>IP)
Markup Language (JSON, XML and XSL, HTTP, SOAP)
Web Service Development (RestAPI, WebSockets, Message Brokers)
Knowledge of (Amazon Web Services, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
Experience in Linux (Compiling, Deploying, Maintaining and creation of Build Environment)
