Hybrid working is supported, and locations across NSW are encouraged.Our Surface Water Science team is seeking to build a talent pool of Senior Ecohydrologists for upcoming temporary and permanent roles over the next 18 months.
As a Senior Ecohydrologist, you will provide project leadership and expert knowledge in aquatic ecology and/or hydrology.Your work will support informed decision-making to optimize surface water management across NSW.Key responsibilities include:Leading strategic monitoring initiatives for ecological indicatorsConducting applied aquatic research to inform water management improvementsBridging policy gapsCollaborating on projects that deliver ecological benefits for the NSW community, regions, departments, and agenciesYour contributions will ensure sustainable water practices that benefit stakeholders and ecosystems.About YouWe are seeking candidates with experience, skills, and knowledge in:Understanding of State and Federal natural resource management frameworks, especially riverine health and water sharingKnowledge of statistical procedures and spatial analysis related to water quality and river healthStrong project management skills to handle competing demandsInitiative and problem-solving abilities with research and analysis skillsExcellent communication skills, experience with stakeholder engagement, and technical presentationsDegree in Science, Ecology, Hydrology, Natural Resources Management, Environmental Engineering, or related fieldsFor more details, read the full Role Description: Senior Ecohydrologist.Who we areThe Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment, and Water (DCCEEW) aims to protect NSW's environment and heritage.
