PBT Group has an opportunity for a Senior BI Systems Analyst for a period of 12 months. Duties: - Interface between business project teams, partners, development teams and ITS - Manage change to the design of the Business Intelligence Infrastructure - Interpret business requirement specifications, analyse existing systems and interfaces for modification/improvement purposes and evaluate and design system enhancements - Flesh out and expand documentation - Manage, investigate and resolve queries - Quality assure changes through development of test conditions for system and integration testing - Manage the creation and hand-over of the system administration procedures - Participate in the post implementation reviews for completed changes - Ensure the stability of the existing systems environment - Analyse and resolve user and system queries and provide input/guidance to technical teams when needed - Modelling the desired outcome of system changes with the business users. - Understanding technical constraints as communicated by the Architect. - Documenting the data model as agreed with the Architect, or in complex cases handing over a logical data model to an Architect for physical data modelling. - Experience in agile or iterative development methodology is advantageous - visual modelling and point-form and tabular text specifications. - Testing the outcome of the system with the assistance of the technical specialists of the systems in question. This spans a broad range of technologies, but the candidate will not be expected to be versed in all these technologies. - Impact assessment of new requirements on the existing system requirements, in conjunction with Architects and user base representatives (specialists in the requirements domain). Experience: - 7 years relevant experience as a BI Systems Analyst - BI (Business Intelligence) and Data Warehouse environment - Dimensional Modeling - Financial sector - advantageous Technologies: - Oracle PL/SQL - Ab Initio - Hadoop - Teradata - PowerBI - SSAS - Jira - Control-M" Competencies: - Attention to detail - Systems Analysis and Design - Data Analysis - Data Modeling - Technical documentation - Alignment to standards, principles and governance Qualifications/ Certification: - Information Technology / Information Systems degree or relevant IT certifications
