Senior Accountant (Contract)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Accountant to manage and oversee financial and tax reporting while ensuring the implementation of accounting and reporting controls.
This is an exciting opportunity for a driven individual with at least 5 years of relevant experience to contribute to a dynamic finance team.
Key Responsibilities (KPI & KPA): Reporting & Reporting Controls: Prepare annual financial statements for multiple companies Handle IT14 submissions on e-filing, provisional tax returns, and Dividend Tax Returns Reconcile and submit VAT and Withholding Tax returns for both South African and foreign entities Assist in compiling annual budgets and forecasts Monthly review of bank reconciliations Process monthly general journal and consolidation entries Manage trial balances for all reporting entities Consolidate entities for funds managed Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and review monthly management accounts Ensure month-end and year-end account closures are performed Prepare quarterly reporting working papers for group reporting Liaise with management, auditors, and relevant stakeholders Review and authorize payments on the banking system (FNB online) Develop, monitor, review, and implement internal accounting policies Assist in preparing board meeting packs and subcommittee reports Qualifications & Experience: Qualifications: B. Com Honours or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Articles completed (Advantageous) Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting or reporting role Staff management experience (advantageous) Experience in group reporting, taxation, and consolidation Knowledge & Skills: Computer Skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Office, and experience with accounting software Desirable Experience: Cognos, CaseWare, Draftworx Ability to manage and maintain the highest standards of reporting and accounting controls Key Characteristics & Essential Skills: Personal Characteristics: Transparency, honesty, and reliability Positive attitude and self-motivated Lead by example and strong communication skills Sensitive to client and staff requirements and concerns Ability to foster a professional office environment Strong organization, planning, and time management skills Business Skills: High business maturity with excellent people skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Maintain confidentiality and business standards Strong team player with a results-focused attitude Ability to lead and manage people effectively If you are a dedicated, proactive, and results-oriented professional looking to contribute your expertise to a growing organization, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
