The Montague Gardens Branch requires a committed, hardworking and trustworthy Scale Buyer to join their team.JOB DESCRIPTION Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Ensure that you thoroughly inspect scrap metal to be purchased and display same openly for photographingEnsure that the requirements of the Second-hand Goods Act are complied with when buying by accurately recording all information required under the ActEnsure that captured information and photographs is correctSorting and grading of ferrous and non-ferrous materialAccurately weigh customers metals for purchaseIdentifying stolen and inferior material and report same to management immediatelyAccurately updating customer informationEnsure metal purchased is secured immediately after purchased and not re-purchasedApplicants must have the following qualifying criteria: Minimum Grade 12 or equivalentComputer proficiency: packages required: MS Word, ExcelGood numeracy skillsAble to liaise professionally with customers, suppliers & colleaguesAbility to work independently as well as in a teamGood communication skillsAbility to work quickly and under pressureAn excellent knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals Qualifying Attributes: Self-motivated, accurate, goal orientated and attention to detailEager to learn and developAbility to multi-task and manage demanding workload in a pressurised environmentAbility to work independently and within a teamStrong sense of integrity and honesty The successful applicant will be subject to background checks including credit, criminal and polygraph testing.
