Job Purpose

To take overall responsibility for the test effort's success as well as delivery of quality and test advocacy, resource planning and management, and resolution of issues that impede the test effort. To act as a trusted / expert Advisor and resource and provides leadership in all testing related activities, this may include providing guidance on opportunities to improve quality, approach, strategy etc.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Test Management from beginning to end
- Manage all testing related activities from cradle to grave, including planning, execution, monitoring and reporting of Acceptance and end to end Testing and Non-Functional Testing. Manage and provide overall leadership and communication to the testing community. Manage and maintain the strategy for the overall approach to testing in consultation with other IT partners.
- Plan, track and monitor the Project activities.
- Ensure execution coordination and tracking on the progress.
- Interact with development and environment support team and resolving the issues based on team need.
- Ensure that team is actively participating on daily, weekly status meetings and make sure that team is providing the accurate information to feature team.
- Make sure that team is attending BPT/TSS/FSS Walk through and participating in the sessions actively and providing necessary input from testing.
- Make sure that team is delivering the right test summary or acceptance test summary reports accurately and covering all the necessary inputs and risk to the feature team.
- Ensure that team is participating actively on demo/pilot with business team.
- Ensure that team is reporting timeously and in accordance with standards.
- Provide input to project schedules on all testing related activities. Where applicable, ensures that testing entry, exit and suspension criteria are adhered to.
- Coordinate all reporting requirements, including test status, defect monitoring and resolution, risks, metrics definition etc. across all testing activities. Ensure that the necessary tools and environments are available for testing activities.
Deliver on Testing Strategy
- Be accountable for the delivery of the consolidated approach to testing as well as providing input to the deliverable, ensuring compliance to required standards where applicable.
- Ensure that delivery of testing is aligned to the business strategy.
- Ensure that testing practises are aligned to strategic ‘Build’ initiatives (such as Agile, CI, TDD etc.)
- Align with the automation initiative and strategies with system team and technical enablement team for the relevant portfolios and applications.
Deliver on Estimation and Financial activities
- Ensure that velocity targets as determined by the Iteration Manager are achieved for each iteration/sprint. Any risks should be notified to the Iteration Manager and documented in Confluence for team’s reference.
- Meet Software Quality Assurance financial objectives by estimating requirements and working with feature team to get the right budget allocated for the requirements.
- Set and manage the budget for the Testing Activities for all the features team.
- Manage the capacity capturing and provide accurate vendors capacity on time.
Ensure effective processes and operations
- Align all processes and operations to the area’s strategy, and ensure that they are lean and enable efficient project test delivery while minimising any risks and contentions.
These include:
- Ensure appropriate governance of testing activities.
- Define and manage Operational and Service Level agreements where applicable.
- Understand project and change requirements and coordinate resources appropriately.
- Ensure that right level of JIRA/Confluence is followed by the team.
Deliver on all Test Planning activities
- Review the previous iteration metrics and provide a plan for the improvement.
- Manage Human resources, both internal and via vendor(s).
- Consider environmental requirements, including devices, the test lab and associated requirements to deliver on testing
- Ensure delivery of procurement of software licences or hardware as these relate to testing activities.
- Consult constantly with testing partners (Test support, Test Services and Test Environments) to ensure timely planning of resource requirements including People, Environments etc.
Ensure effective Stakeholder Management
- Manage and maintain a positive relationship with key stakeholders and manages expectations through appropriate communication.
- Partner with various functional areas and 3rd parties to drive delivery of testing activities.
- Establish and manage key stakeholders within the Group.
- Determine information and communication needs of stakeholders.
- Develop and co-ordinate Business Unit forums in order to provide a mechanism for alignment, constructive feedback from business partners and taking actions to address any issues in a timely manner.
- Build relationships with Group Services such as Finance, HR, Legal, Procurement, GTO etc.
Provide strategic vision and operational leadership to a large team
- Provide strategic vision and operational leadership to a large team.
- Lead, motivate and develop the capability of the testing team to achieve agreed annual targets and delivery.
- Provide leadership to the organisation with regard to Testing strategies and planning, ensuring that all delivery requirements are considered.
- Lead and champion initiatives across functional areas and influence organisational change.
- Influence delivery partners in alternative testing concepts.
Ensure effective Risk Management with regards to Testing
- Ensure that all identified risks with regards to testing are understood, communicated and mitigated as appropriate.
- Ensure staff compliance to regulatory requirements, such as compliance training, training targets within the team, Disciplinary action codes etc.
- Ensure OHS awareness within the team and compliance with Group requirements.
- Ensure BCM plans are in place and documented.
- Partner with the Group Risk area in complying with all Group requirements.
Preferred Qualification and Experience

Qualification:
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
- Salesforce Certification
Experience:
- 1-2 Years experience in managing technical team delivery, leading and driving change, programme management
- 3-4 Years experience in working and managing teams across f
- 3-4 Years able to manage a sizeable budget as it relates to delivery of activities on multiple projects.
- 7+ years banking industry experience, preferably in Retail / Business Banking
