Job & Company Description: My client has been in the Financial Services Industry for 22 years strong and is now in search of a Risk Analyst to join their growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for: risk management data collection, analysis and reporting through the development and maintenance of robust risk models, metrics and methodologies Maintenance of the system/database for recording, consolidating and reporting Risks and Controls Self-Assessment; Key Risk Indicators; and loss incidents/ events Application of data modelling techniques to support analysis of past events and trends/ indicators in order to identify control gaps and potential losses Providing valuable insights for risk management decision making through accurate information as well continuous risk data reporting within the organisation and for the payment system Provide risk management support by performing analysis and modelling that enables the identification of risk exposures Building risk data analysis models and techniques to support the assessment of current risks in order to identify potential future industry risks and related losses Continuously enhance the risks and controls assessment process by analysing drivers, key indicators and trends Providing core support through the development, application and maintenance of accurate risk metrics and methodologies Develop a thorough understanding of risk management data analysis challenges in the through engagement with relevant stakeholders Identify opportunities through which risk data analysis/modelling can assist in addressing these challenges, present these to relevant stakeholders and implement same Develop a better understanding and insight to enable risks data analysis feedback and recommendations to the industry role players Convert data extracts from any source into relevant risk management information with relevant reporting tools Maintaining database for capturing statistics, as well as analysis and reporting of same. Maintaining risk management information reporting and analysis systems and development of high-risk identification models Continuous internal and industry risk management data gathering, analysis and reporting Use the standard risk management and data reporting framework as prescribed by PASA to fulfil requests, and to ensure proper change control and data accuracy Identify new sources of data via requirements gathering, investigation and interaction with industry role players Assist risk owners through formal and informal meetings to be fully involved in the development process and delivery of risk analysis and reporting solutions Develop and implement risk management data governance principles in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act Conduct integrity checks on all extracted data to ensure correct data is incorporated into reports Conduct integrity checks regularly both when developing new reports and executing existing scripts Check all existing and new risk data reports for accuracy and data integrity Escalate data integrity issues to the Chief Risk Officer or relevant data owners and ensure that these receive priority to maintain a high level of data integrity Ensure that all risk data collection, analysis and reporting processes are accurately and continuously documented for business continuity purposes Conduct impact analysis of any proposed changes that will impact on risk management information reporting Actively engage and participate in new risk management initiatives to ensure that the data analysis component is addressed Engage with the Management Information and other data key stakeholders to ensure that the risk management leverages off what is available and are aware of initiatives that may impact on risk data analysis Take part in forums and committees within the risk data analysis environment in order to stay abreast with latest developments and knowledge of various risk modelling, analysis and reporting systems Stay abreast of knowledge and skills relevant to the level and area of work, as well as actively seeking to attain those required for the next level of work with particular focus on best practices Remaining informed of local and global risk data analysis and modelling tools, techniques and methodologies applicable to for the participants Compiling risk data analysis reports on a regular basis Present risk analysis results to stakeholders Maintain all existing risks analysis reports by ensuring relevance for decision making and sound data governance practice Education: Bachelors degree or other relevant qualification Job Experience & Skills Required: Five (5) years experience in a banking industry risk management data analysis role Knowledge and exposure to risk data analysis applications and information products Proficient in MS Excel and Access A sound understanding of Enterprise Risk Management principles and philosophy (ISO 31000, COSO Framework) Banking Industry data analysis knowledge Financial Industry knowledge and logic Building and analysing risk models, including forecasting Working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Access and database concepts Ability to evaluate data from a variety of perspectives, including the ability to work with precision and highlight inaccuracies and inconsistencies in detailed information The ability to integrate information from a variety of sources, discern complex underlying relationships and predict patterns for future growth Ability to present information in a clear manner and responds appropriately to the verbal and written communication of others Able to identify and integrate trends in the organisation, industry and global context, combined with the capacity to articulate their potential impact Apply now!
