To provide support to the Finance Manager: Store Operations and Finance Manager: Support Services by analysing, investigating, reviewing and reporting on financial data in order to ensure budgeted profits are met.
Purpose and Objectives
To ensure month end processes and procedures are in place by assisting with the preparation of the Business Review pack, preparing monthly journals and accruals, automation of reports and reviewing month-end results by ensuring the required month-end adjustments and provisions are processed and anomalies are followed up and resolved.
To assist finance and other departments with financial information that they may require, investigate adhoc anomalies identified and deal with action items effectively and efficiently.
To build robust and effective exception reporting processes and analyse store financial results to focus the business on cost savings or efficiencies to be gained (business review results, outliers report).
To compile, quality check and submit all monthly review reports and information to all relevant stakeholders in line with SLA.
To manage capital spending through capex approvals and forecasting
To perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and submit to all relevant stakeholders to meet audit requirements.
Job Related Knowledge & Skills
Highly analytical and very skilled individual
Excellent IT skills including advanced Excel, familiarity with any ERP system and business analysis tools (SQL, Tableau or Power BI a strong plus)
Good communication skills
Flexible and a team player
Must be self-motivated, self-directed and be able to work under pressure in a fast paced team environment
Minimum 1 years of relevant Finance experience, preferably in the Retail industry in a JSE Listed company
CA (SA) or CIMA (preferable)
