Recognized as the global benchmark for quality and integrity, our 89,000 employees operate a network of 2,600 offices and laboratories worldwide, working together to enable a better, safer, and more interconnected world.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Laboratory Administrator to assist in overseeing administrative functions within the division and to maintain effective communication with customers.Maintain the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).Ensure compliance with the laboratory quality management system (ISO17025 and SANAS).Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system.Perform other reasonable tasks as assigned by the line manager.Print and email test reports.Invoice for completed work according to agreed rates.Assist with general administrative tasks such as filing, copying, creating customized reports, reconciliations, and updating spreadsheets.Maintain a status of outstanding work and follow up with the lab regarding reporting deadlines.Assist the Section Manager with contract reviews and proposal issues.Coordinate customer inquiries and queries.Participate in monthly stock counts within the department.Support monthly payroll duties.QualificationsEducationMatric qualification.ExperienceAt least 2 years of experience in an administrative role.Laboratory background is advantageous.A qualification related to Chemistry is an advantage.Additional InformationAdhere to all health, safety, and environmental requirements of the SGS OI Management System, local legislation, and regulations.Comply with SGS's QHSE, global, and country policies.Participate in operational integrity projects and campaigns.Report hazards, incidents, accidents, and near misses to the supervisor or safety representatives.Apply the Check Status process and use Stop Work Authority when risks are not clearly controlled.Report faulty equipment or deviations from procedures to the supervisor.Assist in investigations and ensure proper procedures are followed.Support employee training when required.Maintain good housekeeping practices in all work areas.Participate in all health, safety, and environmental training and procedures.Perform other reasonable tasks as assigned by the line manager and maintain a clean working environment.
