Key Output Maintain, implement and control the Quality Management System (QMS) in the Service departmentImplement and maintain contamination control standards as per OEM requirementsMaintain quality and contamination control documents within ServicePerform quality and contamination control audits as per relevant standards, policies and procedures, ISO guidelines and requirementsOversee strict adherence to quality control plans, standards and procedures by the service workshop teamsVerify correct implementation of quality control and contamination control proceduresConduct inspections and perform quality tests on work in progress in the workshop as per quality control plan, standards and service quality proceduresComplete quality inspection reportsFacilitate problem solving for quality issues and service warranties using appropriate tools, systems and techniquesIdentify root causes and provide advice on corrective actions for service quality issuesCollect and analyse service quality data, identify trends and propose countermeasures or process improvements to improve service qualityProvide training on service quality awareness and quality control measures to improve service excellenceAssist in the development of workshop repair, assembly and rebuild testing methods and inspection plansMonitor and report on quality-related key performance indicators and ensure service quality objectives and targets are metResponsible for final inspection on completed assembly, repairs and rebuilds in the workshop i.e.
final line of approval on all work conducted in workshopManage projects related to quality process and contamination control improvementsQualification, Experience and Competencies Qualified in relevant trade (Heavy / Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic) – "Red Seal" [HEM / EEM Trade test or NQF4 learnership, passing Sec 26(d) Trade test]Advanced Caterpillar Certification> 5 years qualified artisanMinimum 3 years' experience as a Technical AnalystPrior experience as Service/Technical Planner or Service Supervisor advantageousGood administrative skillsMinimum Required Competencies Machine specific technical knowledge and skills Level 2Applicable product knowledgeVerbal and written communication (including presentation) level 2Technical report writing (advanced content)Business and financial understanding level 1Computer Literacy (All Cat Literature & MS package)Trouble shooting and problem solving skills level 2Diagnostic skills level 2Building relationships level 2Influencing and negotiation level 1
