Raw Materials Planner

Three month fixed term contract with the possibility to become permanent.
Position Overview: The raw materials planner is responsible for procurement and inventory management of raw materials required for production processes. This role ensures that the necessary materials are available at the right time, in the right quantity, and at the right cost to meet production schedules and support the efficiency of the supply chain.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION: BCom in Supply Chain Management or related field (advantageous).
EXPERIENCE: Textile related minimum 1 year.
SALARY: Salary based on experience plus benefits after permanent placement.
SKILLS REQUIRED: Excellent organizational skills, analytical skills, sync software, excellent communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

CUSTOMER COMMUNICATION:

Follow up on projections according to lead times.
Ensure all communication to customers is done correctly and timeously.


TECH PACK / JOBS:

Initiate Tech Packs with relevant departments.
Creation of Job (Bill of Materials) on sync.


PROCUREMENT:

Fabric and packaging needs to be procured in line with customer projections to ensure we are always covered to meet deliveries.
Ensure this is ordered according to the customer's model.


REPORTS:

Identify opportunities to streamline materials handling processes and improve efficiency.
Provide regular reports on inventory levels, materials shortages, and planning accuracy.
Actual vs projected.
Seasonal stats.


SHIPMENT TRACKING:

Follow up ETD and ETAs from schedules provided by offshore suppliers as well as internal shipping department.
Communicate late fabrics to HOD and communicate to demand planners to ensure production aligns.
