Quality Lab Inspector

A vacancy exists in the Quality Department for a Quality Lab Inspector who will ensure that the company fulfil the requirements and responsibilities of the implemented IATF16949 QMS.KEY PERFORMANCE AREASUsing the CMM to measure wheels and conduct visual inspection for issuing of first-offs, SPC tracking and Capability studiesAnalyse the CMM results, inform relevant personnel on any discrepancies, raise and follow-up on containments (non-conformities), when requiredUsing measuring instruments (verniers, micrometers, etc) to conduct manual measuring of significant characteristicsSupport with conduct of Routine testing requirements and Product auditsQUALIFICATIONSMinimum essential tertiary qualification: N6 in Quality or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.Quality specific training in Core Tools (i.e. SPC) and CSR's would be advantageousWORK EXPERIENCEMinimum 3 years experience in Machine Shop and at 2 years work experience in a manufacturing plant would be advantageousShould have thorough knowledge of the Machine Shop and IATF processesThorough knowledge of Quality standardsKnowledge of Problem Solving MethodologiesAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and customer specificationsOTHER REQUIREMENTSComputer literacy is essentialGood decision-making skillsAbility to work under pressure, be a team-playerHonest, have integrity and good communication skills4 Shift system position
