Purpose of the Position:To ensure all media is quality checked and adhere to the broadcasting standard.
Apply full quality assurance, identify content errors on video and metadata and pass or fail content that does not meet Multichoice quality standard.To effectively manage all content that passes through the Content processing Quality Control area.Key Performance Objectives
TasksQuality Control of filesEnsure Media processed is checked for correct video, audio and Metadata
Ensure all media can play on any platform and device (Linear, VOD, Showmax)
Confirm media and import media to/from Ardome for broadcast
Quality Check content as per instruction from Operations Specialists or Video Processing
Communicate any issues with regards to issues and delaysEffective reporting on issues picked up during the QC / Validation processPerform full QC on video and audio on arrival before importing/exporting media to/from Ardome and transcoded files (VOD/Showmax) - ensuring zero errors pass through your environment
Check and maintain technical quality delivered
Perform 3point check on all assets before reaching the customer, on video and metadataShift handover reporting
Ensure that end of shift, report covering all issues is submitted.
Accurate and detailed Non-TX reports escalated to the correct stakeholders- with screenshots and details.
Write detailed Non-TX reports within 9 hours of failing and escalate to Operations Specialist and 1st line support.
Daily output sheets to be updated on Sharepoint or relevant documentation platform.
Ensure all statuses of content is updated and aligned for all stakeholders.Milestone tracking
On request and on an ad-hoc basis assist in any other milestone tracking.
Make sure that Keyframes are available on Ardome & TX Ready files are available.
QC Approved/QC failed milestone tracking updated on each and every asset
Actively participate on process improvement initiatives
Quality check all metadata and video in VOD
Update all statuses and milestones timeously
Qualifications
Essential
Grade 12 / Matric
Advantageous:
Certification in Broadcasting /Media Studies
Experience
A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in broadcast or similar position.
A solid understanding of different digital video and audio formats.
Knowledge of, and experience in Multichoice’s delivery process.
Ability to develop and maintain clear and understandable reports.
An understanding of Multichoice systems such as Synergy, Elemental, Ardome, VizOne, VizConnect, CDN, CMS, Cybertron(NVP),Media Manager, IXS and Vantage would be an advantage.
