Hiring: Pump Fitter (Centurion)Job Overview:Our client, a leading company specializing in pump solutions, is looking for a qualified Pump Fitter to join their team.
The ideal candidate will have a Red Seal Fitter certification and experience in the maintenance, installation, and repair of slurry pumps and related equipment.
This role involves both workshop and on-site duties, ensuring safe, efficient operations and high-quality standards.Key Responsibilities:Pump Installation & Repair: Install, maintain, and repair slurry pumps, including components such as motors, seals, and bearings.Testing & Troubleshooting: Conduct tests on pumps and troubleshoot mechanical issues to ensure functionality.Component Replacement & Assembly: Replace seals, bearings, and other components, and assemble pumps to specifications.Quality & Safety Compliance: Ensure all work meets industry quality standards and safety regulations.On-Site & Workshop Support: Provide assistance with on-site installations and maintenance, as well as in the workshop.Documentation: Keep accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and tests performed.Safety & Housekeeping: Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.Communication: Report progress and challenges to management in a timely manner.Compliance: Ensure all required licenses and permits are current.
Requirements:Mechanical FitterRed Seal Fitter certification (compulsory – no exceptions).Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.At least 2 years of experience as a fitter, particularly with slurry pumps.Strong attention to detail and a focus on safety.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Willingness to travel to customer sites and work overtime when necessary.
