The Public Affairs Executive will have the opportunity to work with stakeholders and provide strategic leadership of the Group Public Affairs within the company. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your public affairs skills in a high-profile and fast-paced corporate environment.

Responsibilities for the Public Affairs Executive
Forging and maintenance of strong and sustainable relationships with government and its entities as well as key communities.
Advisory role to Management and the Board with regard to government policy imperatives to support Company objectives and management of potential tensions between same.
Strategic interface between the Company and Government and Communities to support effective communication.
Develop and execute a engagement strategy and advance issues of common interest, particular in healthcare and healthcare education at all levels of society and manage reporting on all platforms.
Coordinate the Company Sustainability Programme and manage reporting thereof at relevant platforms.
Strategic positioning, protection and on-going evaluation of the Company reputation in all representations with Government and Communities
Align Government’s Transformation agenda to the Company strategies objectives.
Understanding of BBBEE initiatives and ensuring that the Department’s activities are aligned with these.
Responsible for management of relations with identified key stakeholders including Political Principals, Government representatives (i.e. National, Provincial and Local State-Owned Entities), Embassies, Regulatory Bodies and other significant stakeholders as required to create Business synergies.
Visibility and participation in key parliamentary discussions (State of the Nation Address, Budget Speeches, Portfolio Committees and other key Debates) to entrench Corporate Brand.
Monitoring of the media (print, electronic, social etc) and other government sources of information for potential changes or reviews in legislation to ensure Company relevance and effective reaction, as well as to advice on issues impacting strategic objectives.
Support Business Unit Heads by identifying opportunities, lobbying networking and strategic linkages with relevant stakeholders to advance Company Objectives.
Effective strategic interactions and Corporate visibility in relevant key National Government events and engagements.
Identify and manage a database of meaningful projects for partnership with key stakeholders for sustainable community development, particularly responsive to the plight of disadvantaged and/or vulnerable communities as defined in the South African context.
Maintenance of a relevant CSI Video and necessary review thereof.
Implementation, monitoring and evaluation of a developmental CSI Policy.

Experience Needed for the Public Affairs Executive
Relevant Bachelor's Degree
Must have 5 -8 years’ experience in public service senior management position/s with a proven track record of excellent government relations, preferably at national government level (with inter-governmental coordination capabilities).
Proven ability to implement projects and engage at senior levels of government and civil society, with meaningful networks in society (nationally)
Experience in the health sector or pharmaceutical industry an added advantage.
Commercial mindset and ability to link departmental strategic plans and operations to business thrusts.
Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
In depth understanding of transformation and relevant legislations in all areas of operation.
Excellent negotiation skills.
Internal and external stakeholder engagement expertise.
