DOI 01/2025Department: Department of InfrastructureSalary level: 9Enquiries: Ms L Mabuntane at (021) 483 5788Job Type: PermanentLocation: Cape Town, CBD, Western Cape, South AfricaJob Purpose: The Department of Infrastructure, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to assist the Economic Hub chief directorate with administrative, budgetary, project management, and database support, and maintain an efficient and effective Projects Support Office.Minimum Requirements:An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification)A minimum of 3 years experience in project management and contract administration, contract and compliance monitoring, and service level agreement administrationA valid (Code B or higher) driving licenceNB: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply.Recommendation: Experience in property development.Key Performance Areas:Provide technical support to the Chief Directorate-Economic HubProvide administrative, strategic, and logistical support to the Senior ManagerProvide budgetary and project support related to special projectsPrepare motivations and facilitate the process for the nomination and appointment of service providersDevelop report formats, templates, and outline deliverables to guide consultantsMonitor and evaluate the achievement of milestones within given time constraintsOffice administrationAttend all workshops pertaining to Economic Hub's projectsAnswer and report on relevant enquiriesCompile reports at the request of the Senior Manager on project-related enquiriesUpdate quarterly reports and other reportsAssist the Senior Manager in compiling budgets and reporting on expenditureKnowledge of:Applicable legislative and regulatory requirements, policies, and standardsPrinciples and processesProject monitoring methods, tools, and techniquesBusiness and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resourcesRelationship managementWritten and verbal communicationApplied strategic thinkingCreative thinkingDecision makingProblem analysisTechnical proficiencyProblem-solvingProven computer literacyRemuneration: R444,036 per annum (Salary level 9)Note on remuneration: Service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc.)
