VPUU NPC is a Public Benefit Organisation implementing multisectoral integrated area based upgrading programmes of neighbourhoods in townships and informal settlements. This is done in partnership with communities, municipalities, provincial and national government.
We work in an integrated team of community participation, socio economic development, operation and maintenance, spatial planning and design, infrastructure development, and knowledge management towards sustainable urban neighbourhoods. For our team we are looking for
PROJECT MANAGER
Up to R 40 000.00 per month
Job Purpose
To oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of largescale projects across the various Areas of Expertise AoE and to ensure that projects are delivered ontime, within scope and within budget.
Key Performance Areas
Assist with planning for projects across the VPUU AoEs such as
Formulation of funding proposals where required
Define the scope of the project
Create a detailed work plan
Determine the resources time, money, equipment, etc required
Develop a schedule for project completion
Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion
Oversee, monitor, evaluate and close projects across the AoEs incl.
Manage, mentor, and evaluate project team members
Build and maintain trust relationships with internal and external project stakeholders and be the primary contact person for the project
Convene and facilitate regular project meetings with project stakeholders internal and external to support integrated planning and implementation
Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality
Produce accurate and timely progress reports as per funders requirements
Report progress of project to Operations Manager and leadership team at agreed intervals
Oversee Public Relations Marketing around project under the guidance of Marketing
Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase
Facilitate project reviews
Participate in knowledge transfer and sharing of best practices and lessons learned across project teams
Requirements
Proven work experience in the field of Project Manager minimum 7 years
Tertiary education in project management or a related field
Thorough understanding of projectprogramme management techniques and methods
Excellent knowledge of MS Office working knowledge of project management software MS Project etc. is a strong advantage
Working knowledge in using Salesforce is a strong advantage
Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programmes
Spatial design, construction industry knowledge, or IT Network knowledge are of advance
Good knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures
Effective leadership and organizational skills
Effective oralwritten communication skills in at least 2 of the following languages English, isiXhosa, Afrikaans
Excellent problemsolving ability
Knowledge of upgrading of low income neighbourhoods is an advantage
Drivers licence
