We are working in partnership with St Mary le Strand, which is prominently located in the heart of London, on the processional route from Westminster and Buckingham Palace to the City of London. The church is a celebrated architectural gem and a widely recognised landmark building, which has been a centre of parish worship and London life since the early 18th century. In September , St Mary le Strand received Development Phase funding for The Jewel in The Strand project from the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF).A Project Director is now sought to oversee and deliver the project’s Development Phase. Design development needs to be completed to RIBA Stage 3, planning and consents need to be in place, all NLHF check list items provided and all partnership funding raised or pledged. The Project Director will need to be primarily skilled in fundraising, able to demonstrate a track record of managing a portfolio of prospects and securing significant major gifts from the corporate sector and high net worth individuals, as well as the planning and delivery of major projects funded by the NLHF. The postholder will appoint a part time Trusts and Foundations Officer and will also be supported by a part time Finance and Administration Officer (both posts will be funded by the NLHF).T he successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:Extensive fundraising experience, working within the full spectrum of development,including cultivation, gift solicitations, stewardship, and donor recognitionAbility to close leadership gifts (£,+) in a relationship-based cultureExperience of working with heritage sites and/or places of worship to deliver specific outcomesExperience of working with a wide range of partners across sectors, at national, regional, and local levelsExperience of delivering regeneration initiatives and projectsA good understanding of current building conservation principles and techniquesExperience of procuring and managing consultants and contractors and managing contract negotiationsWe are looking for a strategic thinker, with exceptional communication skills, and the ability to successfully integrate partnerships. A strong background in campaign management, with the ability to move adeptly between big picture thinking and day-to-day operations, where it will be necessary, for example, to process own admin, will be essential.
